Overview UK Watch Limited has many years of experience in the design and installation of intruder alarm systems and is accredited to UKAS standards by the SSAIB. We were amongst the first to achieve the European Standard for the installation of electronic security systems. As we are voluntarily accredited and governed by the SSAIB (Security Systems & Alarms Inspection Board), we are required to (and indeed desire to) have strict controls over the amount of "false" alarm activations that are generated by our security systems. "Bells only" The entry level of any intruder alarm system is what is known in the industry as "bells only". This is a basic system usually comprising of a series of motion detectors covering critical areas within the property. In the event of a detected intrusion, a very high decibel sound is emitted both inside and outside of the property, warning neighbours of a possible problem. A relatively low cost and effective method of securing the property. Communicated alarm systems Intruder alarms can be connected to our remote 24 hour Central Monitoring Station to give immediate Police or Private Guarding response. This type of system is very quickly becoming the standard in both commercial and residential properties with communications provided by British Telecom RedCare©, Vodaphone Dualcomm© or via a standard telephone line. Licensing of Police calling systems It should be noted that only companies accredited by bodies such as the SSAIB are allowed to fit Police Calling alarm systems. Any upheld complaint to the SSAIB by a client who believes that their system or the follow up service does not comply with the necessary regulations could result in withdrawal of accreditation and therefore the withdrawal of the ability, by us, to fit such systems for anyone else. Remote control and remote access When requested, UK Watch Limited fits remote access and service modules to new, communicated (connected to a phone line) alarm systems. These modules allow minor servicing, faultfinding and modifications (such as code changes etc) to be carried out by computer (from our end), therefore eliminating the need for an engineer to attend site and consequently reducing costs to the client. Our statistics have shown that 80% of all calls where the client has believed that attendance by an engineer is a necessity have been resolved through a modem link. This has, on average, reduced the clients outgoings by 80% per call and waiting time by 3 hours, a definite benefit when you have attended a minor incident at 3 o'clock in the morning and do not relish the idea of waiting for a further 2 hours for an engineer! UK Watch can also provide and set up software (which will run on any windows machine) and hardware (a specified modem) at the clients residential or security monitoring address. This will enable complete control, by the client, of the alarm system from a remote point, including setting, unsetting, event viewing, code changes, additions and deletions and much more.
